Dhashvanth, the accused in the bone-chilling murder and sexual assault of seven-year-old Hasini, was attacked by women in Chengalpet court on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old was arrested by a special team of the Chennai Police on Wednesday, December 6 in Mumbai. However, he also escaped one day after he was arrested.
According to police, Dhashvanth was handcuffed when he escaped from custody in Mumbai’s Vile Parle area near Hotel Satellite. He was again caught and brought to Chennai.
The accused, who is a mechanical engineer was send to Puzhal Central Prison after the magistrate remanded him to judicial custody.
Dhashvanth has been out on bail in the Hasini case since September 2017.
It is said that as Dhashvanth was brought to Chengalpet to be produced in the court where women present in the premises attacked him.
The women were extremely furious with the brutal crime committed by the accused. The cops however, intervened and ensured his safety.
Dhashvanth was first arrested in February this year for the alleged rape and murder of a seven-year-old girl.
On December 2, he allegedly killed his mother Sarala and also escaped with her jewellery.
Charges were framed against Dashwant the Mahila Courtin the Hasini rape and the trial was to be started on December 5.
