As the makers of Suriya’s Singham-3 are getting to ready to finally release the film on 9th February, after suspending couple of times in December and January for various reasons, it has now facing threat from online piracy racket. As per the Kollywood reports, this powerful action cop story is yet again giving sleepless nights to the makers.
As soon as the owner of a website which hosts piracy movies online, posted on his Facebook that they will be releasing the pirated version of Singham 3 on 9 February at 11am, actor Suriya’s fans association, Kerala approached SP office, Cyber Cell in Thiruvananthapuram. The association president lodged a complaint against piracy website and sought immediate by Police.
While Tollywood Industry has managed to overcome piracy market to a great extent, Kollywood films are still falling prey to this illegal activity. In case of Singham-3, the piracy makers have gone a step ahead and by announced the release time of its piracy version. Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru and Bogan are two recent Tamil films that were victimized on Facebook in less than a week’s gap of release.
Since the piracy wesbite team having links with international rackets which attempt from different domains, locations, the anti-piracy cell in Tamil Nadu is trying to nab the culprits in no time. In the meanwhile, the Admin’s post on Facebook is attracting strong criticism from film producer KE Gnanavel Raja and from fans of Suriya across the state.
Amidst these conditions, it remains to be seen how will this Suriya starrer perform at box office and it is needless to say what kind of impact the piracy will show on film collections.
