Akkineni Naga Chaitanya will be working with his maternal uncle Venkatesh Daggubati in full length roles for the first time in Venky Mama which is directed by KS Ravindra. Touted to be a commercial entertainer, the film is speculated to be a Dushera release and shooting is in progress currently. And this is not the first time Naga Chaitanya is working with uncle Venkatesh. The uncle and nephew have shared screen space in Naga Chaitanya’s Premam where Venkatesh was seen in a cameo, interestingly, as his uncle. Naga Chaitanya reveals how it is working with Venkatesh and says that it is quite a challenge. Chay says that his uncle is a disciplined and dedicated artist and he finds it tough to cope up with his dedication while on sets of the film. And we can’t agree more. Venky has been in the profession for close to three decades while Chay just finished 11 years in the industry.
Venky Mama will have Chay playing an army officer while Venkatesh will be seen playing a rural entrepreneur. The first look of the film was revealed a while ago which had both Chay and Venky featuring in it. Venky mama also stars Raashi Khanna and Payal Rajput in female lead roles and both the actresses have begun shooting for it.
The makers are yet to confirm the release date of the film, but speculations are that this multi-starrer may hit the large screens on Dussehra 2019. Tollywood movie buffs are super excited about this project since this is the first time the uncle-nephew duo is coming together for a film. Although Venkatesh appeared in Naga Chaitanya’s Premam, it was cameo but not a full-length role.
