Kirti Kulhari was recently seen in Mission Mangal as Neha Siddiqui. Needless to say, Mission Mangal is a great success just like Mangalyaan. The film is doing wonders at the box office. The fantasy drama also starred Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha and Sharman Joshi in key roles. And now moving on to the new project, Kirti will be seen in the Indian adaptation of ‘The Girl on the Train’. Talking about the same, Kirti revealed that she will be seen wearing no makeup for the upcoming thriller.
“I will be seen without makeup in ‘The Girl on the Train’. I like staying away from makeup and I am glad that I will not have to do it for this film,” said the actress, who is currently in London for a month-long shoot of the film.
The film, which stars Parineeti Chopra, will see Kirti essaying a British cop. It is directed by Ribhu Das Gupta and also features Avinash Tiwary, Aditi Rao Hydari, Vatsal Sheth and Ishita Dutta.
This is the second time Kirti is being directed by Ribhu, after the upcoming Netflix original series, “Bard of Blood.” The series is slated to release on September 27. The actress also has the second season of “Four More Shots Please” coming up on Amazon Prime, besides a film titled “Bataasha,” where she plays a Musician.
Meanwhile, Parineeti Chopra who stepped into shoes of Emily Blunt for the role says she is ready for the comparisons between the two actresses. “It is a privilege for me to play the character that she has essayed so brilliantly on screen. The restraint and range she showed as an actor while playing a girl who is troubled and battling herself in the film showed what a fantastic actor she is,” Parineeti said in a statement.
“When any actor does a remake of a loved film, there are expectations to match the original, if not better it. So, I realize that the audience will look at our film and draw comparisons to the original as well as compare my portrayal of the protagonist versus Emily’s,” she added.
