Shraddha Kapoor belongs to the list of actors who left academics to pursue a career in Bollywood. The Ek Villain star was studying psychology at Boston University but she quit the course to join the entertainment industry. Shraddha made her debut with Teen Patti in 2010 and thereafter there was no looking back for her. Recently, when she visited the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show to promote Chhichhore with Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor opened up about her decision to choose films over education.
In conversation with Kapil, she said, “Actually, pehle plan thi ki education aur college khatam karungi, phir acting mein aaungi. Lekin bohot impatient ho gayi main. Wapas aa gayi toh offers aane lage. Auditions ke offers, film offers nahi. Toh mujhe laga ki chalo, drop out karti hoon.” However, the actress further advised her fans and well-wishers to not follow her footsteps and do what they wish to. “Guys, main yeh advise nahi karti ki drop out karo, jo aapke dil mein hai, woh karo,” said Shraddha.
Like Shraddha, her co-star Sushant Rajput had also quit his course, Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering), six to eight months prior to its completion. However, the actor, in an interview, had mentioned, “I will request the college officials to give me my degree which I probably deserved. I was just six to eight months away from completing my degree when I quit. Now when I think of it, I wonder how I managed to do that! The intention was to do things that I actually was attached to. I dropped out of college and was fearless. That enabled me to explore new things and do what I am doing at this point in time.”Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Chhichhore releases on September 6.
