Security forces on Monday launched Cordon and Search Operations (CASO) at three places in the Kashmir valley, where two Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) were killed in an encounter in Pulwama.
One of the JeM commander Mudasir Ahmad Khan, reportedly mastermind of fidayeen attack in which 44 CRPF personnel were martyred on February 14 at Awantipora, was killed by Security forces, late on Sunday night.
Official sources said on a tip-off about the presence of militants, troops of Rashitriya Rifles (RR), Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and Central Paramilitary Forces (CPMF) launched CASO at Arihal in Pulwama, KokergundYaripora in Kulgam in south and Goigam Kunzar in north Kashmir district of Baramula.
Security forces sealed all exit points in these area and started house-to-house searches.
The search operations were going on when the reports last came in, they said, adding that so far no contact was established with militants. (UNI)
