Rohit Shetty has recently confirmed that after Golmaal Again, he would be collaborating with Ranveer Singh for his next project. The director, known for making complete masala potboilers, had said that the new movie will also be an action entertainer. The reports suggest that that the movie would be a remake of the Jr NTR hit, Temper. Now as per a report in Mid-Day, there are rumours that Ranveer Singh will be making his debut as a producer with the movie, but a silent one at that. Interestingly, his father was often said to be a silent producer for Ranveer Singh’s debut movie, Band Baajaa Baaraat.
On an even interesting note, as per the report in Mid-Day, it seemed that Ranveer’s father only suggested the idea of Ranveer turning a silent producer for this movie A source close to the project told the newspaper, “Ranveer’s father suggested that he should turn producer with Rohit’s film. He may act in it, without being an investor and have a share of the back-end profits.”
While this may be exciting news, Ranveer’s spokesperson clarified this news saying that Ranveer Singh has no such plans, saying, “Ranveer feels he’s not ready for the responsibility.” Is this reluctance something to do with the debacle of his good friend Ranbir Kapoor’s maiden production, Jagga Jasoos? But then, since Ranveer was supposed to a ‘silent’ producer, we don’t expect any other answer from official sources than ‘he’s not doing it’.
Before this Temper remake, Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty had earlier worked together for a short film to promote a noodle brand called Ranveer Ching Returns. While that short movie, which also starred Tamannaah Bhatia, invoked mixed reaction, we are quite excited about their collaboration for a full-length movie.
