Pooja Bhatt reviving plans of remaking Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin with Alia, Ranbir?

Bollywood’s latest madly-in-love couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt made headlines when designer Manish Malhotra predicted that they will hook-up in 2018. What many believed to be just a shocking statement turned out to be real. The couple had started dating on the sets of Brahmastra and their joint appearance at Sonam Kapoor’s reception bash was like the final nail in the coffin. Alia is head-over-heels in love with her co-star and Ranbir, too, is smitten by the Highway actress. They even won the most stylish couple poll conducted by BollywoodLife amongst other contenders like Shah Rukh-Gauri, Varun-Natasha and Shahid-Mira. We saw Alia blush at his mention and even the way he willingly obliged when she asked him to smile for the paparazzi. A love story starring them at this point would be a treat for their fans, right?

But even as we are planning to cast them in a movie apart from Brahmastra, Alia’s sister, Pooja Bhatt had thought of the same idea, way back in 2012. It was soon after Student of the Year had hit the screens and Alia was being touted as the next Kareena Kapoor. It was during one of her conversations, when Alia was asked if Pooja Bhatt was planning to do a movie with her, that she replied, “Actually my sister Pooja once just mentioned casually that if she ever remade her film Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin (1991), she would do it with me and Ranbir. But nothing of that sort is happening as of now.” Of course, the movie didn’t happen but now that the couple is dating in reality, Pooja might think of reviving the project and direct a remake of DHKMN. And if it happens, it will be such a delight! We hope the actress turned filmmaker will definitely consider it in future.

In the same interview, when the SOTY actress was asked to name her youth icon, she picked Ranbir Kapoor as her answer. Wonder how she feels today that the guy she had such a big crush on, is the man she’s dating!
