Bengaluru: The police have raided the residence of former gangster Agni Sridhar and arrested seven people in connection with an extortion case. The police have seized four revolvers and ammunition, two daggers and two button knives, four baseball bats, three daggers, two pokers, two knives, Rs 6,88,00 cash, 418 gms of gold jewellery and ganja from the arrested persons.
The police have identified the arrested persons as Syed Aman alias Bachchan (54) of Kumaraswamy Layout, Brij Bhushan Hussain Pandey (38) from Gorakhpur district, UP, Ramkumar Rai (37) from Uttar Pradesh, Sabeer Ali (51) from Uttar Pradesh, Tanveer (34) from Banashankari, Bengaluru, Arunkumar (24) from Santekodanahalli, Kanakapur taluk and Varun Kumar (20) from Kumaraswamy Layout.
Meanwhile, former gangster Agni Shridhar collapsed and suffered a mild cardiac arrest during the police interrogation in connection with the case threatening Tata Ramesh.
A special team of police raided Agni Sridhar’s residence at ISRO Layout after receiving information on Sridhar sheltering Rohith, an accused in Kogilu shootout case. It may be recalled that Dasanpura APMC president Kadabagere Srinivas was shot at Kogilu Cross recently. Srinivas is being treated at Columbia Asia Hospital, Hebbal.
Based on the information, the police detained Agni Shreedhar and were interrogating him since morning. Shridhar who suffers from high blood pressure, collapsed and is said to have suffered mild heart attack during the interrogation. He is admitted to Sagar Apollo Hospital in Kumaraswamy Layout.
Additional Police Commissioner Hemanth Nimbalkar told media persons that Agni Shridhar has allegedly threatened Tata Ramesh. After obtaining court orders, the police team searched Agni Shridhar’s residence.
The politician Tata Ramesh had on Wednesday complained to Yelahanka police against Sridhar regarding the life threat. Based on information that Sridhar was also harbouring a Rohit alias Onte, a close associate of Silent Sunila, prime accused in the murder attempt on Srinivas, police raided his house.
