Prime Minister Narendra Modi will witness a grand show by the three defence forces after inaugurating the Defence Expo in Lucknow on Wednesday. A senior official in the UP government said that after the inauguration, the PM will interact with visiting defence ministers of other countries and is likely to get a group photograph with them.
He will then visit the India and UP pavilions before witnessing a live demonstration by land systems, flying display by aero platforms and operation demonstration by naval systems. “The PM will spend about three hours at the venue after which he is expected to depart around 1pm,” said a minister. Officials said the India Pavilion will showcase the strong partnership between public and private sectors, including small and medium enterprises/micro, small and medium enterprises.
On the other hand, the UP pavilion will display its strengths in the industrial sector and the potential for investors in light of the upcoming defence corridor. Officials said the expo is expected to see participation from over 70 countries and will be at par with some of the biggest international defence exhibitions.
