Shraddha Kapoor began shooting for ace badminton player Saina Nehwal’s biopic in September 2018. Days after she kick started the shoot, the actress was diagnosed with dengue and advised to rest. It was reported that Shraddha had to resume Saina Nehwal biopic in April but the latest development is that the actress has opted out of Amole Gupte’s directorial altogether. Parineeti Chopra, who was last seen opposite Arjun Kapoor, has replaced her to play the lead role. As per a source close to Mumbai Mirror, Shraddha had to opt out of the project because of her tight schedule. For the ones who are not aware, the 32-year-old has number films lined up which include Chhichhore, Street Dancer 3D, Saaho and Baaghi 3.
Since the dates were clashing, the decision of Shraddha’s exit was taken by mutual consent. And we think it is a wise decision taken. Meanwhile, confirming the report of Parineeti’s entry in Saina Nehwal biopic, producer Bhushan Kumar told the leading daily, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.” The first look of Shraddha as Saina Nehwal was released months ago. Now, it would be interesting to see how the Namaste England star will get into the skin of her character. Only time will tell whether Parineeti will be able to do justice to Saina Nehwal’s part on the silver screen or not. Apart from Saina Nehwal biopic, Parineeti has Jabariya Jodi with Sidharth Malhotra and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar with Arjun Kapoor. Currently, the actress is gearing up for the release of Kesari that features Akshay Kumar in the lead role. Based on the life of Havildar Ishar Singh who participated in the Battle of Saragarh, Anurag Singh’s directorial hits cinemas on March 21.
