For debutant director Naveen Dwarakanath, getting the lead pair in place for his film For Regn is nothing short of a casting coup. Naveen, who had earlier announced Pruthvi Ambaar, whose film Dia was not only one of the hits of 2020, but also made him one of the actors to look out for in Kannada cinema, as the protagonist, now has Milana Nagaraj on board as the leading lady.
“Milana is fresh off the success of Love Mocktail and having her in the film not only does justice to the character, but also presents a new pairing in Kannada cinema. After signing Pruthvi, we were on the lookout for a heroine who could pull off a bubbly character and a more mature avatar as well. Milana fits this profile perfectly,” explains Naveen.
For Regn, he adds, is a romantic comedy, the screenplay for which Naveen has written, while actor Tabla Nani, who is on the cast, chipped in with the dialogues. “We were supposed to start the film in April-May, which got delayed due to the pandemic. We are now looking at tentatively getting it on floors by December, given that Pruthvi needs to finish his commitments on Sugarless and Life is Beautiful, says Naveen, adding that the film will have music by Harish RK.
