M G Ramachandran served as the CM of Tamil Nadu for ten years, from 1977 to 1987.
Earlier in an interview, Kangana had opened up about the time when she read the script and heard the story. She said, “It presented an image of her that was contrary to the one I had in my mind, so I asked for some time to think over the film during which I read up some more on her and was blown away by what I learned. It’s a story that needs to be told and I am happy to be telling it even though she was the absolute opposite of me.”
