Last weekend, Kangana Ranaut called upon a party to celebrate the success of her film Manikarnika and also the safe return of IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman who was in custody of Pakistan after the Balakot surgical air strike. Amidst the many things spoken at the press interaction, Kangana Ranaut called out quite a few Bollywood celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor for their apolitical stand on national issues. Labeling them ‘irresponsible’, Kangana said that film personalities need to take interest in matters of national importance. “We should take interest in national matters. It’s silly to think that I shouldn’t be asked about anything, (thinking) ‘what if I lose an endorsement?’ This is stupid,” she had said.
Now, Alia has finally responded to Kangana’s allegations and in her own sassy way. At a recent press interaction, the Brahmastra actress said, “Listen, I definitely don’t have the ability to speak as candidly as Kangana does and I really really respect her for that. And may be in a way she is right that sometimes we do hold back. Kyunki hum nahi chahte ke, khamakha kyun bolna. My dad always says that there are already so many opinions in the world that the world could do with one less opinion. So, I have an opinion but I will keep it to myself. But kudos to her because she genuinely speaks really well.” On the work front, Alia Bhatt will be seen in Abhishek Varman’s Kalank and Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. The logo of Brahmastra was launched yesterday and it took the internet by storm. On the other hand, the Kalank journey begins today as the makers have announced something interesting coming up soon.
