When Kannada actor SathishNinasam announced his collaboration with director Vijaya Prasad, called Petromax, it was said that he would reunite with his Brahmachari co-star Aditi Prabhudeva yet again. But not long thereafter, it emerged that Aditi had scheduling issues and could not be a part of the film. Since then, everyone has been anxiously waiting to see who would step in and do the role. As it turns out, it is Hariprriya, for whom Petromax will be the second film with Vijaya Prasad, after Neer Dose. Hariprriya is currently in Mysuru, where the team had the official muhurtha of the film on October 19 morning. The actress was supposed to be in Hyderabad to shoot for the Kannada remake of Evaru with Diganth and Vasishta N Simha. But the torrential rains in Hyderabad have ruined the sets for that film, pushing her schedule ahead. In fact, Hariprriya was supposed to join Petromax only by the end of the month, but with the Evaru remake pushed, she was able to accommodate dates earlier.
As for the film, it is supposed to be a fun movie that is high on emotions. Director Vijaya Prasad had explained it, “The plot revolves around the lives of four orphans, essayed by Sathish, Arun, Nagabhushan and HemaDutt. Petromax symbolises light, which is essential in the lives of all four of them,” he explains, adding, “In tandem with my past projects, the new film also concentrates on the elements of emotion, human values, wit, humour and a social message.”
