Govt trying to tarnish my image in Meti case: Shenoy

Ballari:  Former DySPAnupamaShenoy has alleged that the state government has been trying to find a reason to tarnish her reputation using former minister H Y Meti’s alleged sex tape case.

“It is making people believe that I used the tape as a weapon to get myself reinstated as DySP,” she said. Shenoy quit in June last year citing personal reasons.

Addressing reporters at RTI activist RajashekharMulali’s residence here on Wednesday, she said the CID called her for questioning, based on a report published in a Kannada tabloid alleging that she, RSS leaders Santoshji and KalladkaPrabhakarBhat got the sex CD released to the media.

“I want to make it clear to Meti that there is no link between me and the episode that surrounded the release of the CD,” Shenoy said.

She said that on August 29 last year she had written to the Police Department and the CM requesting for her reinstatement. “I got a letter from the CM’s office on Sept 2, 2016 stating that the letter had been forwarded to the department concerned. I got another letter on Jan 11 this year informing me that I cannot be reinstated. So there is no scope for confusion that I used the CD to get my reinstatement. The government needs a reason to tarnish my image.”
