Bengaluru: The northeast division police have sent special teams to Goa, Mangaluru and Hyderabad for collecting information about two bike-borne men who shot at rowdy-turned-politician Kadabagere Srinivas at Yelahanka on Friday.
There are reports that contract killers were hired to murder Srinivas. The Yelahanka police had questioned suspects, mostly habitual offenders and history-sheeters in the area, to collect information about the assailants. The teams were dispatched to three places based on the information obtained.
Srinivas, the Dasanapura APMC president, is under observation at the intensive care unit of the Columbia Asia Hospital. He is responding to the treatment.
The incident occurred at a busy traffic signal on the airport. Srinivas and his driver were injured in the firing. Srinivas was returning home from the city when the assailants followed his the car before firing at the duo when the vehicle stopped at Kogilu Cross signal.
