DC Books Bags 13 Awards for Book Production Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP) announced the awards for excellence in book production 2019. DC Books has bagged thirteen awards in various categories of book production. The 39th awards for Excellence in Book Production included various categories featuring general books, children’s books, text books and medical books, journals and digital books in both English and regional languages. DC Books is 2nd to just Penguin Books in the Neilson Book Scan reports in India in terms of the volume of production
Pracheena Poorva Madhyakala India Charithram by Upinder Singh and Oru Vattam Koodi: Ente Padapusthaklangal bagged the first and second prize respectively under text books and references. Indica: A Deep Natural History of Indian Subcontinent by Pranay Lal bagged the first prize under Scientific and Technical books followed by Kandalkadukal written by Suresh Mannarasala. Jaya An Illustrated Retelling of the Mahabharata recieved the certificate of merit under the paperback category of general books.
The children’s imprints from DC Books received the first and second prize respectively for Vikramaditya and Vetal retold by Sherylene Rafeeque and The Shadow of the Steam Engine written by Vestin Varghese. Under children’s books from regional languages, Pasuvum Puliyum by Sachidanandan grabbed the second prize and Kotiyum Kurukanum written by Ashitha received the certificate of merit.
Raja Ravivarma: Painter of Colonial India written by Rupika Chawla brought in laurels by receiving the first prize for its cover jacket and second prize for the coffee table book in regional languages. Emerging Kerala, the business magazine published by DC Books bagged the first prize under journals while Kiraze, the translated work of Solmaz Kamuran received first place under digital printing.
The Federation of Indian Publishers is the representative body of publishers in English, Hindi and other regional languages.
