From what we hear Disha Patani will play a trapeze artiste in a 1960s circus and her role is not a small one. In fact, her character plays a strong part and is pivotal to the story. She will be romancing Salman during his younger days in the movie. The circus segment in Bharat is director Ali Abbas Zafar’s ode to his idol Raj Kapoor and his cult film, Mera Naam Joker. Talking about Disha coming on board and her character, Ali Abbas Zafar revealed to Mumbai Mirror, “The pairing of Salman and Disha in a circus set-up in the ’60s is unusual and exciting. She is a promising star and for this character, we needed a girl who looked vulnerable and beautiful yet had the physicality of an athlete. Disha fits the bill perfectly.”

Disha, who is still very new in the industry, has already started prep for Bharat. She has to learn the skills required to be a part of the circus artiste as trapeze artistes are known for their skill and agility. And looks like the actress is very excited, as Disha mentioned to Mumbai Mirror, “I’m excited to be a part of Bharat, it’s like a dream come true to get an opportunity to work with Salman sir and I can’t wait for the journey to begin. I am a big fan of Ali Abbas sir’s work.”

For those of you who don’t know, Bharat is an official adaptation of the South Korean movie – Ode To My Father.
