Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan’s film on mafia Queen Sapna Didi to go on floors in January 2018

Latest update on Deepika Padukone’s next after Padmavati has been revealed. We already know that she’ll be reuniting with her Piku co-star Irrfan Khan in Vishal Bharadwaj’s upcoming mob drama on the life of Rahima Khan (aka Sapna Didi). Turns out, the film will be going on floors next year. As per a latest report on Mumbai Mirror, work on the project has kickstarted as the team is on a recce to scout for locations. Bharadwaj has also started composing the music for the film. You see, for the filmmaker, music plays a very essential role in his films. So it’s obvious that he’s going to emphasize and pay extra attention to the specific element. Anyway, all this was decided on their meeting that took place day before yesterday. We had shared pictures of the actress along with all the celebs who are concerned with this project. Surprisingly even Ranveer Singh was spotted in the same location, although he came for a different purpose.

A source close to the development spilled beans on what happened in their meeting, “The team had been meaning to meet for a while now.Since Deepika wasn’t shooting for Padmavati and Irrfan is in town, they decided to gather on Tuesday to discuss the script, how their characters would shape up and their looks.” The team is checking out locations across India. Since both DP and Irrfan are caught up with their respective projects, January sounds perfect for both of them. While Deepika has Padmavati to wrap up, Khan has signed a Malayalam film with Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar. It’s going to be a light-hearted comedy and with Irrfan onboard, too much LOL scenes are expected!

Although this is the second time the Piku stars come together, it is Deepika’s first Vishal Bharadwaj film. She has been wanting to collaborate with him for the longest time and looks like the time has finally come! And she sure has impressed the filmmaker. In a statement to The Bombay Times, Vishal Bharadwaj said, “Deepika had been persuading me to write the script and make a film on ‘Femme Fatale’. I’m happy that she loved the script and agreed to work with Honey on this.” He also added, “Irrfan is an incredible actor. I’m looking forward to the two of them coming together in this film. Honey has been with me for than 15 years. I am sure he will add interesting nuances to the script.” The film is rooting for an October release.
