Death on the Nile: Ali Fazal’s first look from the film is deadly and dynamic

Ali Fazal has been sporting a moustache for a few weeks now. This has kept many wondering, what the actor is upto. However, it seems the netizens have finally found the answer to what Fazal’s look is for. The actor who is currently shooting for Death on the Nile in London will be seen sporting a sharp moustache for his role. Based on Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name, the film is directed by Kenneth Branagh. In the movie, Ali stars opposite Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot.

“The actor who was earlier sporting prominent facial fuzz has shaved off his beard. His look for the last month has been with a pencil moustache. Ali is the kind of actor who believes in sinking his teeth into his character completely. Because of the representation of Indians in movies, Ali is extremely particular about his look in films he does internationally. He categorically picks parts where acting is a priority over the race of his character. For the longest time, Indian actors in the West had stereotypical imagery, and Ali is cautious to not allow his characters to suffer from similar issues. He is imbibing the traits of his character, taking it a step ahead of what the script had. He even started reading the original material at the start of the shoot, keeping the script as his bible all along.”

Earlier in a statement, Ali Fazal spoke about being a part of the ensemble cast, “I never get intimidated by the cast. I am not playing an Indian in this film, so my biggest moment came when my look test worked and Kenneth really liked it. Some actors think they are good, still things don’t work out. We constantly need validation from other people. This was a good validation for me.”

Talking about working with Gal, Ali had then mentioned, “I haven’t met her. I have only sat down with my director. I went for costume trials.”
