Bangalore Political action committee (B.PAC) announced the applications for the 7th batch of B.CLIP – B.PAC civic leadership incubator program. B.CLIP tries to pursue, encourage honest, committed innovate and help citizens to enter public service to create new leaders who shall successfully coerce and balance and create transformative changes in our community through good governance.
B.PAC has trained more than 250 civic leaders in the last five years who are passionately participating and making changes in the way our society is governed. Over the years this organization desires to present a pool of civic leaders in a large way. B.CLIP program educates the candidates with skills in public policy analysis, municipal administration, training them on the political landscape and election campaign dynamics. The leaders of B.CLIP has led over 120 unique ward development activities such as simultaneous clean up dries in 50 wards and beautification of 250 black spots, comprehensive waste management program in 30 wards, 500 waste segregation drives, training of young ambassadors, training 750 Pourakarmikas, plantation of over 8000 trees in city, women safety program, assistance to 3000 urban poor on availing government schemes, over 7 lake revival projects, traffic solutions in Sanjaynagar, Varthur, Marapannpalya, Shivajinagar and use of technology for good governance are among many such initiatives.
Mrs. Geeta who is a part of congress beams about her journey with B.CLIP. She mentioned about the hardships an independent candidate might usually face in the beginning with financial crisis and lack of confidence and knowledge of a responsible leader. “And that was when I came in contact with B.CLIP” she said. “B.clip has helped me inculcate good leadership qualities in me that made me give a tough competition with the opposition candidate. B.clip has also helped me resolve the financial issues regarding serving the public. All the journalists should be responsible enough to evolve into a good leader in the society” added Mrs. Geetha.
Structure for B.CLIP program
This program comprises of two phases
- Classroom session
- Field project
In the classroom session, a 3 month training through a customized curriculum designed by Takshashela institution. A duration of 12 weeks of which 3 hours on Fridays and Saturdays will be held.
In the field project, work at ward level for a period of 6 months. This helps candidates with an opportunity to engage civic issues that are of concern.
