Ayushmann Khurrana’s Andhadhun to be remade in Tamil

Andhadhun starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte and Tabu was one of the biggest hits in Bollywood this year and also one of the most successful outings at the box office. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Andhadhun was a dark crime drama which left audience stunned with its offbeat screenplay. And as always, speculations about its remake in other languages were doing rounds including South film industries. According to latest reports, the Tamil remake of Andhadhun is on cards and the deal of the remake rights has been sealed. Actor Thiagarajan has bagged the rights of the film and Prashanth might reprise the role played by Ayushmann Khurrana. News has it that the makers of the Tamil remake have begun the pre-production works and are working on the rest of the cast and crew of the film. This is an interesting choice by the makers since fans expected that a younger actor like Siddharth, Vijay Sethupathi or Nani would be seen in the remake. Interestingly, Prashanth is Thiagarajan’s son and has acted in many of his films.

Prashanth was last seen in Telugu film Vinaya Vidheya Rama which starred Ram Charan in the lead role. The film was a comeback for Prashanth in Tollywood after almost a decade. In Tamil, Prashanth was last seen in Johnny who was heist thriller and was a remake of Bollywood hit Johnny Gaddar.

Speaking about Andhadhun, the film has been going places and recently received numerous awards at Indian Film Festival Melbourne. Besides this, Andhadhun also bagged National Awards this including Best Film and Best Actor categories. With so many accolades in its kitty, Andhadhun is definitely the most successful film in Bollywood this year.
