Avengers Endgame: Wondering what happened to Loki? The Russo Brothers have the answer

Avengers: Endgame is making a killing at the global box office and fans are still shedding tears over the end of some of their favourite superheroes. However, some fans are wondering what exactly happened to Loki? Actor Tom Hiddleston plays the role in the Avengers series. Well, Avengers: Endgame directors Anthony and Joe Russo have given some clarity on the same. Loki, who was initially created by Stan Lee, had died in Avengers: Infinity War. Fans of MCU had assumed that he was officially bumped off from the upcoming film. But when the character posters for the Avengers: Endgame got released in March, fans pinpointed that Loki was included in the snapped section. This was unlike the fate of Heimdall (Idris Elba) who did not get a poster at all.

Since then, crazy fans of Avengers have been speculating whether the God of Mischief is actually dead or not. The character did make a fleeting appearance in Avengers: Endgame. In the film, there is an intense time-travel sequence where Tony Stark and Scott Lang are given the job of getting the Space Stone from 2012 New York by hook or crook. However, Hulk makes some errors and the stone gets picked up by Loki. He uses it to disappear and does not appear again in the film. Brothers Joe and Anthony Russo told Business Insider and there is hope for fans. Joe said, “Loki, when he teleports away with the Space Stone, would create his own timeline. It gets very complicated, but it would be impossible for Cap to rectify the timeline unless he found Loki. The minute that Loki does something as dramatic as take the Space Stone, he creates a branched reality.” Brother Anthony Russo endorsed his statement. He stated, “We’re dealing with this idea of multi verses and branched realities. So, there are many realities. Avengers: Endgame is a story of undying hope, of resilience and the human spirit which will grab hold of every single silver lining in the dark and stormy cloud to make things work for the better. The price is simple – sacrifices will have to be paid and they come at a huge cost.
