The High Court on Wednesday morning issued an arrest warrant against Bangalore city collector Vijay Shankar for allegedly making false names.
A petition filed by SV Babu of Rajajinagar on Wednesday questioning the name of the deceased Feroz Pasha was filed by NSS. N. Satyanarayana appeared before a unanimous bench.
The sheriff had to file a certificate of attendance on Wednesday, according to a court order. But D.C. Vijayashankar was absent. This irritated Jaz and said that the conduct of such officers who did not pay court orders was unacceptable.
Also, the District Collector issued a warrant for the arrest and ordered it to be issued by the Police Commissioner. In addition, an arrest warrant was also issued for Tahsildar Ramalakshmaiah of East Taluk in Bangalore.
Appeal for warrant revoked

The sub-divisional officer had ordered the land account of Chandenahalli in Sarjapur to be named after the deceased Firoz Pasha. An appeal was made to the District Collector in this regard. But the sheriff had also ordered the name of the deceased. A petition was filed in the High Court challenging this.
