Anushka Shetty to play a cameo in Chiranjeevi-starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy

Baahubali actress Anushka Shetty will be seen playing a cameo in Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy which features Chiranjeevi in the titular role. Directed by Surender Reddy, the film is based on the life of one of India’s first freedom fighters Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy.

Anushka Shetty would be seen playing a strong role in Sye Raa and the makers are trying to keep the details under the wraps. However, looks like Anushka’s role might have now been revealed. According to a report, Anushka would be seen playing Rani Lakshmibai in the film and would be narrating the story in the film.

“The film opens with Anushka narrating the story, and she further takes the audience through to the rest of the film. Her voice will help in accentuating the surreal experience for the audience,” the report quoted a source as saying.

It will be interesting to see how the narrative will shape up given the role. Anushka has already shot for her portions in the film and has flown to the US for her next titled Silence.

Sye Raa will narrate the life of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy who fought the British during the Pre-Independence period. Chiranjeevi will be seen playing the titular role and his look was revealed in the teaser which was released on his birthday last year.

Nayanthara would be seen playing his wife in Sye Raa while Tamannaah will be seen portraying a dancer in the film. Amitabh Bachchan would be seen playing Chiranjeevi’s guru in the plot and the actor’s look was revealed on his birthday recently.

Kannada star Kichcha Sudeep will be seen playing a warrior Avuku Raju in Sye Raa and the actor’s look has left his fans stunned in the film. Vijay Sethupathi will be portraying a role called Raaja Pandian and his look too was revealed by the makers a while ago.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is being produced by Ram Charan under the banner Konidela Productions. The makers are yet to confirm the release date of the film but it is expected to be in October this year.
