Ajay Devgn set to collaborate with Abhishek Bachchan after 7 years

Seven years after Bol Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan are apparently reuniting for a film by Kookie Gulati. The only catch here is that the De De Pyaar De actor has donned the producer’s hat for this drama and he won’t be sharing screen space with Abhishek. Word is that Ileana D’Cruz and Abhishek Bachchan have been roped in as the lead actors for Devgn’s production venture. Kookie Gulati, the director of this project, worked as a creative director on Indra Kumar’s comic-caper Total Dhamaal which also featured Ajay Devgn.

Coming back to his untitled film, a source close to this development has informed Mumbai Mirror that the pre-production is still underway while the team will begin recce for the movie soon.

Spilling more details about Abhishek – Ileana starrer, the source further added, “It is based on real events that took place between 1990 and 2000 and changed India’s financial fabric. Ajay loved the subject and immediately agreed to back it. Ileana has a very strong role in the film but isn’t paired opposite Abhishek. The team is on the lookout for an actress to be paired with him. The film will go on the floors by the year-end.”

And we wonder which actress will be paired opposite Abhishek Bachchan. In the meantime, Abhishek will be next seen in Anurag Basu’s untitled next. As for Ajay Devgn, he is currently busy shooting for Bhuj: The Pride Of India which stars Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha and Sanjay Dutt. Talking about Ileana D’Cruz, she will be next seen in Anees Bazmee’s Pagalpanti which has an ensemble cast ft John Abraham, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat, Kriti Kharbanda, Urvashi Rautela and Saurabh Shukla. The film is slated to release on November 8, 2019.

Abhishek and Ajay first collaborated for Rohit Shetty’s Zameen followed by Mani Ratnam’s Yuva and then Bol Bachchan (2012). Ajay and Ileana have also worked in past for films like Baadsaho and Raid.
