Dharwad: SSLC exam started on a smooth note in all the 91 exam centres across Dharwad district on Thursday.
Of the 91 centres in the district, 76 are identified as sensitive and additional police personnel and exam staffs have been deployed there.
As many as 14,236 boys and 13,346 girls, taking the total to 27,582, had to attend the examination, but 13,660 boys and 13,103 girls appeared for the first language paper. as many as 819 students remained absent for the examination.
There were reports about parents of some student’s parents accusing the head master of B. C. Deshpande School of not issuing hall tickets to six students. However, DDPI N.H. Naganur denied such allegations and said that those students were ineligible for appearing for the examination, as they had not attended the school regularly. They had shortage of attendance and not even attended the half-yearly examination, he said.
