BBMP have closed for four months the flyover connecting to southwest Bengaluru and the central business district from December 26.
This lead to traffic jams especially for motorist driving to the city from Satellite Bus Stand, Nayandahalli, Rajarajeshwari Nagar and adjacent areas. Passengers on Thursday had to wait almost two hours to reach their destination. There was traffic jam close to Guddadahalli, the bus stand and under the Sirsi Circle flyover.
BBMP is spending Rs 430 lakh to mill the present asphalt surface, lay a 3mm-thick asphalt seal lay 40mm bitumen concrete and mark the lanes.
Due to the inconvenience and maintenance work the motorist are being forced to use the narrow road which goes through the congested KR Market below. The flyover is 2.6 km long, constructed between KR Market and Bapujinagar has exit ramps at Briand Square, Royan Circle and Goodshed Road.
