After two women from Kerala entered the Sabarimala sanctum, Rajesh R Kurup, a follower of the RSS, protested by shaving half his moustache. Rajesh (39) confirmed the news and stated that he was doing this to express his protest against the two women-Bindu and Kanakadurga-who entered the temple in the wee hours of Wednesday, January 2.
Several protests have broken out across Kerala following the entry of the two women, who are both in their 40s, and did the darshan at 3:45 am AM Wednesday. The women are currently in an undisclosed location under the protection of the state police.
Rajesh, a native of Mannar, who is behind a fake Sabarimala photoshoot, was earlier arrested for spreading fake pictures of alleged police atrocity in Sabarimala.
In the pictures, he can be seen pretending to be under police attack. Rajesh posted his picture with half a moustache on Facebook.
He also wrote that he was shaving off his moustache as protest and that the Hindus should take precautions to safeguard their properties (temples) from being looted. Violent protests broke out in certain areas such as Vadakara, Adoor, Malappuram Mavelikkara, Kollam, Adoor and Kothamangalam condemning the entry of women in the Sabarimala sanctum.
Journalists, especially women reporters were targeted once again and attacked by the protestors in Thiruvananthapuram. In Palakkad, the BJP cadres marched towards an event where Law Minister AK Balan was speaking and forced all shops on the way to shut down.
