KSRTC suspended bus services to Kerala

Protests held in different part of the state in Kerala, on Thursday after a two women aged 10 and 50 years entered Sabarimala temple. United Democratic Front (UDF) and various  Hindu outfits observed a black day, by calling a 12-hour hartal.

Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC)  discontinued bus services to Kerala because of hartal.

KSRTC officials said, “Two buses from Mangaluru division were vandalized by the protesters in Kerala. These buses were parked at Kasargod bus stand were damaged due to stone pelting by the protesters on Thursday morning”

The official further said that operations from most divisions including Bengaluru Central division, Mysuru, Mangaluru and Chikmagalur towards Kerala have been temporarily stopped and service will only resume following clearance from the police. Services expected  to resume by evening.

Passengers found it difficult to travel across the state, including sabarimala pilgrims. Several tourist operators cancelled their trips and private buses, taxi operators too stopped their services.
