The high court on Thursday said the BBMP should send the collated suggestions to its draft advertisement bylaws to the state government before December 12. “You have got five days to work. We expect you to send them to the government for further action by the next date of hearing,” a division bench headed by Chief Justice Dinesh Maheshwari told BBMP counsel V Sreenidhi. Earlier, counsel told the high court that in a public hearing on Thursday, 250 suggestions have been received and they will be collated at the earliest.
Nod for cloth hoardings? Cou nsel for a couple of advertise ment agencies urged the court to permit them to display ads on 100% cotton material. The bench, however, said their pleas will be addressed in due course of time. “Bengaluru needs several corrective measures,” the bench said, while noting that the use of plastic and chemicals has affected the environment and individual interest has to give way for collective interest.
