CM welcomes establishment of Saudi Arabian Consulate in City


Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy welcomed the decision of Saudi Arabian Government to establish its consulate here in Bengaluru.  He was speaking to H.E. Dr. Saudi Mohammed.A.Al-sati, Consul General of Saudi Arabia in India , who called upon the Chief Minister here today.

“There are lot of opportunities in Karnataka in the field of Tourism and Infrastructure Development and the Karnataka Government would extend all its support to the interested entrepreneurs of Saudi Arabia. He also invited them to invest in the industrial sector.

“The travellers traffic between Bengaluru and Saudi Arabia is on the rise every day and the aspirants of Saudi Arabian visa has doubled in the recent years. I this background, the Saudi Government has decided to establish a consulate in Bengaluru”, said the Consul General.

“A Bengaluru based women by name Saulat unnisa has established a girls’ school in Mecca about 100 years ago. We have supporting documents in this regard and we have also heard that the ancestors and relatives are still living in Bengaluru. If they are traced, Saudi Arabian Government would like to honour them” he said.  He also expressed his pleasure over the pleasing weather and infrastructure of Bengaluru.  R.Roshan Baig,  Former Minister was present during the occasion.
